Well, while we are not the best at taking advantage of social media, we have been working hard to develop and implement our initial relief efforts. Ang Tshering, the coordinator of our efforts in Nepal has been providing updates on the situation long before media reports reach us in the US. He has already exhausted his personal store of supplies, and is arranging a team with additional supplies to head to Sindhupalchok, one of the hardest hit areas in the mountains north of Kathmandu.
As planned, we are gathering more supplies to help with immediate needs: emergency shelters, sleeping bags and pads, warm and waterproof clothes, water purification, and other essentials. Maybe more importantly we have secured a way to get the supplies into the country, though fortunately, reports suggest there are fewer materials being delayed at the borders and airport.
Incredibly, we were able to raise over $5,000 in just three days. We can’t thank you enough for the love and support!
